DayZ Tip
Pumpkins take up 4 slots in your inventory, but sliced pumpkins take up 4 also. Because you get 2 slices of pumpkin when cutting them open, it's best to not cut them open until you need to eat them.
BONUS TIP: The Shovel and Pickaxe can be used to cut open pumpkins, and pumpkins are the only grown food to give you seeds without destroying the fruit/vegetable.
