Weapon Scores Explained
Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Stat Scores:
The average percentage of all stats found in either the primary, secondary or tertiary tiers on the weapon being compared.
Overall Weapon Score:
The average percentage of all stats found in ALL of the primary, secondary AND tertiary tiers combined with contribution multipliers considered:
- Primary contributions are 100% of the average primary stat value on the weapon.
- Secondary contributions are 25% of the average secondary stat value on the weapon.
- Tertiary contributions are 5% of the average tertiary stat value on the weapon.
With contribution multipliers applied, the total average of the tiers is then divided by the the total of the contribution multipliers.
As you can see above, the total is 130%(1.3), giving us the Overall Weapon Score.

Mosin 9130
The Mosin Nagant uses 7.62x54 Rounds and is a favourite for many players since the birth of DayZ. The Mosin is very powerful at long distance, but due to the Mosin being bolt-action like many Sniper Rifles in DayZ, it is more difficult to use in close quarters combat. For this reason, it is best to have a secondary firearm for close range shootouts.
LAR
Otherwise known as the FN FAL, the LAR is an extremely powerful battle Rifle that dominates at all ranges that fires .308 Rounds. It's in the Assault Rifle category as it fits here best for now. The LAR is a difficult firearm to find and also loot the Magazine for. However, if you do loot the LAR and attach a gun optic to it, it becomes one of the best weapons in DayZ.

Shotguns are incredible dangerous up close, but lack in effectiveness at medium and especially long distance. Shotguns are best used in urban combat for this reason.
Handguns are compact firearms that can only be shot and handled with one hand. They are less powerful and accurate than rifles, but they are more concealable and portable. They are classified into several categories, including revolvers and pistols. While the cylinder of a revolver rotates in place of a magazine, the magazine of a handgun may hold a significant number of rounds.
