Weapons that shoot fast and do moderate damage. Due to this, they are favourites in not only DayZ, but almost any game that has these easily adaptable guns. In DayZ, these firearms have good range, damage and rate of fire. The range, recoil and sway can be impacted with various weapon attachments. Because DayZ Assault Rifles are some of the most powerful firearms in the game, they are usually found in high tier loot spawn areas and are considered good loot.

Shotguns are incredible dangerous up close, but lack in effectiveness at medium and especially long distance. Shotguns are best used in urban combat for this reason.

They are classified into several categories, including revolvers and pistols. While the cylinder of a revolver rotates in place of a magazine, the magazine of a handgun may hold a significant number of rounds.
